I should be doing COUNTLESS of other more "productive" things ... but I got sucked into playing with this cool Flickr gadget ... love the old fashioned 8mm feel ... next time I think I'll take a bunch of family photos, turn them into black and whites or sepia tones and see what I come up with ...

I could spend hours playing here!

Couldn't wait to share what I've been working on!!

I tend to be one of those type "A" personalities ... everything has to be "perfect" {details,details,details} to my eye before I feel comfortable presenting a new product line.
Well, I'm taking a leap of faith here and trusting that you'll love these new slip dresses as much as I do, even though they still need some tweeking here and there!!

Some still need embellishments ... lace, velvet ribbon, or a rhinestone or two.
Others only need their photograph done.

I have made over 45 of these dresses ... in sooooo many yummy colors ...
faded violets, pale pinks, muted greens, sea glass blue, and so on.

One batch made it up to the shop last week for our Gypsy Soiree night,
I wanted to get a "preview" for how/if the customers would like them ...
well...the customers didn't get a chance at them!
The "Shoppe Girls" swooped in first and ...
two went to Beth
one to Cory
and FOUR to Stephanie
leaving one for our customer Dolly to purchase!
{I'm glad I wore one that night, I would have been out of luck!}

I'm doing my best to get all of these cuties up on line over the next week or so ...
But I really couldn't wait to post a few pics on these new dresses coming soon!!

The carousel of life

Do you ever feel like you are spinning in circles on a fabulous carnival ride ... whirling, twirling fast ... lots of bright colors ... music filling the air ... all fun and exhilarating? Well, that's how I have been feeling for the past couple of weeks ... to be honest, It's ALL GREAT ... but this old gal is a little dizzy and a bit tired ... sometimes I'd rather be sitting on the bench holding the bags, eating funnel cake, and people watching!

So many positive and rewarding moments have occurred during the past month, a lot regarding my amazing daughter who is graduating from High School this year ... very bittersweet watching her meet goals and milestones in her young life.
Graduation,Prom,Varsity Lacrosse,Sr. trip,College,Driver's license {finally!}
I'm so proud of her, she has had many struggles, but has come through beautifully!

In my spare time {ha!} I have been diligently working on new jewelry designs, something I haven't done in awhile ... I have really missed being totally absorbed in the creative process ... I have TONS of new vintage items to work with ... keep your peepers open, I will soon be listing them for sale here and of course you can always find them in person here!

Here's a little sneak peek ...

Hope all of you are enjoying your ride on the carousel of life !!

Next topic: Town wide yard sale this past weekend

I was some what mia from blogland this past week or so preparing for our town wide yard sale last weekend. After a full weeks worth of hauling treasures out of the basement and attic Mother nature decided not to cooperate ... but that didn't stop us! We held our sale inside and outside under a tent and it was a HUGE success!!

Thanks to ALL of the help I had, there was NO WAY I could have pulled this off on my own!!

Mom and my Daughter for wrangling the Three Year Old!

The Man for everything, including willingness to sell his "stuff" and pitching the tent at midnight ... the one in the yard!

Debbie for a FULL days work organizing, pricing, and cleaning!

Beth and Earl for support and showing up at 7am w/doughnuts, yum!

Fran for helping days before and showing up with pies and cake, more yum!

All shoppers who bought and bought and bought,

All proceeds will finance a new gas line and dryer at the Gypsy Flea Market household.
