Silver Sunday ... It's in the Bag

Here's a little treasure I found for Silver Sunday hanging about my studio ... it's not the traditional offering of silver, but rather a silver beaded evening bag. The photos don't show off the tiny tube beads that in person resemble bits and pieces of mercury glass ... it is accented by pale blue and gray pearls ... all resting atop a silky silver/gray satin. The hardware is silver as well.

My newest necklace I created yesterday ... the focal point is and old silver rhinestone brooch ... it's missing some of the stones, adding that authentic time-worn element. This piece is loaded with found vintage treasures, rhinestone rondelles,a rusty skeleton key,old crystal rosary beads,Austrian crystals,a charm of St. Anne, and much more.

The beaded evening bag and necklace make a nice duo .... add them to a pretty ensemble ... and viola! Ready for date night!! I must be dreaming again ... a date tonight would include a football jersey and snow boots ... although that doesn't sound bad either ; )

Great big {{Gypsy Hugs}} back at ya, Beth, for keeping the Silver Sunday party train a rollin' down the track ... I'm one of many who are thankful we'll get to keep on playing ... Thank you!

  1. Hi Jill... your beaded bag and newly created necklace are beautiful! Date night for me would be going to Home Depot for supplies then sipping hot choclate at home watching Jack work on his model train layout! (I could still carry the beaded bag and wear the necklace!) xoxo Julie Marie

That necklace is just lovely.. how clever you are!! It has a lovely mix of elements. I was wondering what you mean by Australian crystals?? Are they opals? oh well either way it is beautiful... Have a great Sunday.. xx Julie

  31. OOHH I love your newest necklace. So beautiful as is everything you make. My assistant loves the necklace I bought from you for her Christmas gift (she's worn it to the office several times) and I love the one I got me. Sorry I haven't been around to comment lately, I finally had cervical spinal surgery last Monday and am laid up with a neck brace for at least another two weeks. Got to keep it immobile.

Anyhow, LOVE your necklace and the brooches (ladies I have one, they are AWESOME).

    Smiles~
