Abandoned ...

Do you ever see a beautiful abandoned home and porch ... falling down around itself and wonder? Wonder who was there before ... where did they go ... and why isn't anyone there now loving the old homestead?

I do.
All the time.

Next week's Porch Club topic is the same as this week ... anything that tickles your fancy!

ps. This is Linky's last week to get it right ... or I'm switching to another link system .. I apologize for all of the inconvenience my friends.

  1. Yes I do all the time I think its coz my mum always did too.I even wrote a kids story once about an old sad broken down house lol I think its so sad to see them run down I wish someone would just give me one to do up and live in (with acres of land too of course)

  2. It makes me crazy when I see a wonderful old house that has fallen to neglect! I long to buy and fix it up, but then the cost of fixing it up slaps me in the face! Have a great week sweetie!

  3. Too funny we did the same post! I absolutely do!

  4. It really breaks my heart to see these wonderful old homes be abandoned. To think of all the living that had taken place there, then to wonder about what happened to the families...sad.
We drove by my grandparents old house a few weeks ago, built in the late 20's, they've been gone for 45 years. A little bungalow that was in such horrible shape that I cried. All the memories I have of that place. It really hurts.
Hope you have a wonderful week, Jill!
    lots of love,

  5. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! i sure do and it does bring a bit of sadness, doesn't it?!?! but it even more sad when it's the house that belonged to your family for centuries! that's what's happening to the houses of my ancesters right now!
    love the post!
    Happy week,

  6. I love old houses, and old things in general. It makes me sad and nostalgic at the same time.

  7. I love old houses especially with porches, my mother and I used to drive around get a burger and go sit in old abondoned homesteads and try to imagine whom lived there etc. I missed the party today but am visiting all the porches!

  8. Hi Jill,

I forgot about my post this week! But I'll be back next week..good grief, I need an alarm set to remind me of these things I want to do! :0)

  9. How I wish that people actually sat on their porches. There is not much of that. My husband and I work on our yard quite regularly so that seems to be a draw for neighbors to stop by.

It saddens me that people are now just too busy.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment,
I always look forward to hearing from you!
